Minimum Requirements

Experience

- Experience in receiving, distributing, and managing stock
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver stock to hospital departments and local clinics
- Load and offload goods and supplies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure safekeeping of stock
- Keep the warehouse clean, orderly, and functional
- Assist with asset management and support the transit clerk when needed
Competencies and Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and reliability.

Job Summary
The Department of Health is offering an opportunity for a capable and experienced Light Duty Vehicle Driver to join the Drakenstein Sub-district team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in transporting goods, staff, and equipment as needed across the region.
Minimum Requirements
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills
- Valid Code B or EB driver’s licence
- Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP)
- Physically fit for lifting and loading items
- Willingness to work overtime and perform standby duties
Experience
- Relevant driving experience involving the transport of people and goods
- Understanding of vehicle maintenance and routine safety inspections
Key Responsibilities
- Transport official personnel, packages, post, and medical supplies
- Maintain accurate logbooks for trips
- Clean and conduct routine checks on vehicles
- Support administrative duties and emergency transport requests
- Provide relief support within the transport unit as required
Competencies and Skills
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and transport regulations
- Ability to work independently and responsibly
- Familiarity with Transport Circular 4 of 2000
